Mums Doing It For The Kids
17 November 2013
Through their tireless fundraising they help many of the dancers attending the school to meet the costs of entering competitions and attending specialist workshops. Last year a group of kids from Vogue entered Sky 1s Got to Dance competition making it to the live auditions and appearing on televisionWhen the committee recently applied to the Olivia Rae Foundation for a small grant to pay for some workshops we were more than happy to help. The committee have since organised a workshop with the world class commercial dancer Alex Steele. Colette Dunn, mother and member of the Vogue Mums Committee said: "The workshop was brilliant, all the children really enjoyed it!"
It can be a real struggle for families to find the money to support their own childrens activities. So we love the fact that this group of parents have committed themselves to supporting every child around them. They are an inspiration and a great example of how collectively we can all do more to build better more inclusive communities.
The Vogue Dance Academy is based in Vauxhall and specialises in street dance and hip-hop for young dancers aged 3 to 19.
Through its fundraising and grant making the Olivia Rae Foundation aims to support young people on Merseyside in achieving their aspirations through Education and the Arts.
